UTA 2025: Grit, Heart, and the Power of Showing Up

UTA 2025: Grit, Heart, and the Power of Showing Up

Just over a week ago, a few of our Endu1 athletes stood at the start line of Ultra-Trail Australia — ready to take on the 50km, 100km, and the inaugural 100-mile race. It turned out to be one hell of a weekend.

But what unfolded wasn’t just about finish times or distances — it was about resilience, overcoming adversity, and the quiet power of pushing beyond limits.

Damien  — First Miler, First Taste of the Deep End

Taking on a miler is never just about fitness — it’s about how deep you’re willing to go when things fall apart. Damien faced that reality mid-race, when injury hit. But instead of calling it, he pushed through the pain and crossed the line. That’s not just completing a race — that’s conquering a part of yourself most people never meet.

Mick — Adaptation in Action

UTA 50km wasn’t meant to be easy. But for adaptive athlete Mick, the challenge came with extra weight — physically and mentally. After recently chasing a world record, he showed up on fatigued legs and faced some of the worst weather conditions of the weekend. Still, he moved forward. Step by step, he finished his first UTA 50km — showing all of us what courage really looks like.

Emma — Strength Beyond Results

Emma Power had a strong start in the 100km before unexpected stomach issues brought her to a grinding halt. Anyone who’s run ultras knows: even elite athletes can be brought down by something as unpredictable as gut trouble. But what matters isn’t the DNF — it’s the fire she’s walking away with. Emma will be back, stronger, hungrier, and ready to prove what she’s capable of.

Sam — The Definition of Support

Sam from Pop Running didn’t just show up to race — he showed up for his athletes. After completing his own events, he jumped straight into support mode, helping Mick through the final leg of his race. Together, they crossed the finish line — a powerful reminder that ultra running is rarely a solo sport.

Ordinary People, Extraordinary Effort

At Endu1, we believe in the everyday athlete. You don’t need a podium finish to do something extraordinary — sometimes, just standing at the start line is enough. The courage to start, the determination to keep going, and the willingness to embrace the unknown — that’s what this sport is really about.

Powered by Honey Boost

This race also marked the debut of our caffeinated prototype of Honey Boost ULTRA. Over 12 litres were consumed across the weekend — roughly equivalent to three cups of coffee. The verdict? It worked. Clean energy, mental clarity, no GI issues. For long, mentally demanding events, it gave us the sustained focus and fuel we needed to perform.

Gratitude & Cowbell Moments

We’re overwhelmed by the messages and support we’ve received from the community — thank you. A special shout-out to our families who hold us together behind the scenes. And a heartfelt thanks to Dave Stewart, who met us at the 130km mark when we needed it most. That moment of encouragement — that’s what we call a Cowbell moment. 🔔

This weekend wasn’t just about a race — it was a reminder of why we do this. For the challenge, the community, and the quiet belief that we’re capable of more.
